Crown-tipped Coral Fungus
Finding this crown-tipped coral fungus in Pensacola, Florida was a very cool find for me as a Florida Native as I was living in the Pacific Northwest at the time and had never seen this type of mushroom east of the Rocky Mountains. This particular species is reported as edible, but as always extreme caution should be used when ingesting any wild mushroom without being absolutely certain what it is you are putting in your mouth. That said, this mushroom is fairly easily found throughout most of North America, excluding the West Coast, and is also common throughout Europe.
